Aura (2024)

Aura is an ability which can be purchased from the Ability Teacher for 25,000. It allows the player to coat a certain body part in a black armor, improving the player's damage and defense, and allows the player to bypass the Elemental fruits' immunity.

It is cheap, easily obtainable, and very useful, so it is advised that players get it as soon as possible. The NPC that sells this ability, Ability Teacher can be found either inside the "Ability Cave" at Frozen Village below the Camp Site near the Colors Specialist, or at the Magma Village near The Mayor. To activate/deactivate Aura, press J (down on D-pad for console or button labeled Aura on mobile).

Leveling

Aura has an EXP system that allows it to be leveled up. There are three ways of gaining Aura experience (each gives +1 Aura EXP per one action):

1. Damaging any enemies while having Aura activated, including NPCs, players, and Bosses using any sword, gun, melee weapon, or fighting style. This does not work with Blox Fruit moves.
2. Activating Aura.
3. Getting hit while having Aura activated.

The player's Aura will progress through five stages, each providing visual changes and buffs to the ability. However, it will not notify the player every time it progresses; the player must try changing their Aura stage by talking to the Aura Editor to check if they've progressed or not.

Upon reaching stage 5, the player will be rewarded with the title: Iron Man #068 and will be able to change their aura's color. These Aura Colors can be bought from the Master of Auras.

Visually, stages display differently depending on the player's fighting style, but doesn't change buffs. (Ex. Dark Step)

Note: Once you've unlocked a certain stage, changing your Aura's visual appearance will not cause the buffs of the said stage to disappear. It purely changes the visual effect.

Notes

• On stages 3, 4 and 5 damage boosts from stage 1 remain.
• Aura is one of the most important utility to obtain in-game, as without one the player won't be able to damage Elemental Fruit users(this includes NPCs).
• The best and most prominent way to quickly level up Aura is to auto-click using f.e. a low-damage sword and standing near NPCs the player is immune to or otherwise not killable towards.
• There is currently a visual bug where if you do not use the blocky avatar the inside of your hands will be visible (no Aura there).
• Another way to level up your Aura is to use Buddha. Say, if you are at stage 2 at the start of second sea, then got Buddha, by the end of 2nd Sea you will get full body Aura. So don't worry about leveling it up.
• If you use Aura on a fruit sword (Ex. Light's Spear or Ice's Trident), the Aura will not level up. Only using Fighting styles and Swords will grant you aura exp.

Trivia

• Most swords will change their color when a colored Aura is active, based on its color.
  • Some sword's visual designs are also affected by Aura (e.g., Tush*ta).
  • Rengoku, however, does not change the aura color, as it's always red.
• Aura was formerly called "Enhancement" before Update 17.3.5.
• Light's Spear visual is affected by Aura.
• Ice's Trident is also affected; however, the user must have an Aura Color. This will only affect the outline of the trident, not the entire trident.
• Upon getting the title "Iron Man", when stage 5 isn't equipped, Go to the Aura Editor, as it's probably due to an alternative stage being equipped. Fix this by equipping stage 5.
